 Author Bio

Rachel Houston is the co-founder of Houston Faith Ministries and co-host/co-pastor
of the WORD for Life Movement, a daily teaching and ministry broadcast streaming live on multiple social media platforms. Pastor Rachel has faithfully served the church alongside her husband in team ministry for over twenty years (at the time of publishing this book). They have pastored churches in Missouri, Arkansas, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Texas. Her gracious and diligent walk of faith has earned her regard as a prophet, anointed preacher, psalmist, gifted musician, and
loving pastor. With a special elegance and spirit of excellence, she has served in almost every capacity in the church while at the same time, she gracefully fulfills the roles of a dedicated school teacher, wife, and mother.

Rachel Houston has a unique appreciation for life and ministry. She is the daughter of Leroy Welch, originally from Butler, Missouri, and raised on a rural century farm outside of Passaic, Missouri. Rachel attended school in Butler and continued by studying Music and Vocal Instruction and Education at the College of the Ozarks. She also graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of
New Mexico and holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Arkansas.

Rachel has taken full advantage of the insight, knowledge, and revelation gained from years working with family members and friends with various impairments and challenges. This experience has helped her become a highly effective classroom teacher to students of all ages throughout her tenure in general education and special education. In this, her first published book, Rachel tells the story of
God’s great faithfulness as seen in the life of her Dad as he recalls growing up with five other siblings with visual impairments. 

This book recounts the triumph of this family as they refused to allow their impairment and challenges to become a disability. It is the story of God’s faithfulness and the believer’s victory. You will be inspired to trust the hand of God at work in your life as you allow love to heal, hope to rise, and faith to yield true sight!
